To request a booking for dates in 2022, please email our Kenya office with your group name, the number of people in your group, and the date you would like to visit. This allows guests to expand their visiting experience, seamlessly going from the Nursery to the “World’s Wildlife Capital.” Please note that access to Nairobi National Park is managed by KWS and requires a separate entry fee. Visiting Nairobi National Park: Kenya Wildlife Service has opened a new entry point to Nairobi National Park at the KWS Workshop/Staff gate on Magadi Road, just before the entrance to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. However, some of the more mischievous elephants may choose to extend a trunk in greeting or bump along the visitor cordon! For this reason, we carefully limit their exposure to humans, and only Keepers are allowed to feed and directly interact with them. Respecting the Orphans: Every orphan in our care will ultimately be reintegrated back into the wild.Smoking and vaping is prohibited, and we ask that phones be set to silent. Prior to entry, all guests must sanitise and complete a temperature check. As a courtesy to our staff, all guests must wear face masks for the duration of their visit. To ensure minimum delays, we encourage guests to arrive at 10:30 am on their booked date. On-Site Protocols: The visiting hour takes place from 11am to 12 noon. This is collected upon entry, in Cash or via Mpesa, on the day of your visit. Entry Fees: The minimum donation for entry is Ksh 1,500 / US$15 per person 12 years and above, and Ksh 500 / US$5 for those under 12 years of age.It is not possible to make bookings on the day and we ask that you please do not come to the orphanage unless you have a booked place. Bookings may be made up to three months in advance of a proposed visit. We encourage guests to reserve their slots early, as we have limited daily capacity. Pre-Booking Requirements: Access to the Nursery is by advance booking only. Please allow up to 48 hours to receive a reply to your enquiry.īefore requesting your booking, please review our updated booking and visiting protocols: To ensure the safety of our orphans, staff, and guests, entry is strictly by advance booking only. The public visit takes place every day, except the 25th December, from 11am to 12 noon. We would be delighted to facilitate your visit. This is a special, time-honoured tradition in which we invite the public to learn more about our conservation work and meet the orphans in our care. Thank you for your interest in joining our Nairobi Nursery’s public visiting hour.
